Otley Common Varieties - Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
1. Promoter
1.1. This prize draw is organised by Friends of the Wesley Otley Limited, trading as Otley Common, of Walkergate, LS21 1HB, referred to as "the Promoter".
1.2. For any questions regarding this prize draw, contact development@otleycommon.org.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The prize draw is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
2.2. Employees, directors, individuals directly involved in organising or administering the prize draw, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
2.3. Entrants must have a valid Instagram or Facebook account.
2.4. Entry is free. No purchase or payment is necessary.
3. Entry period
3.1. The prize draw opens on 1pm British Summer Time (BST) pm Monday 12th October 2026.
3.2. Entries close at 3pm BST on Thursday 15 October 2026.
3.3. Entries received after the closing time will not be considered.
4. How to enter
4.1. To enter, participants must:
Like the official Otley Common Varieties competition post on Instagram or Facebook.
Comment on the competition post, telling Otley Common who they would bring along.
4.2. Participants may enter through Instagram or Facebook. Only one entry per person is permitted overall, regardless of platform.
4.3. Multiple comments or entries on both platforms will not increase the participant's chances of winning.
4.4. Following Otley Common, sharing the competition post or tagging other accounts is not a requirement of entry.
4.5. Entries must appear on the original competition post published by Otley Common. Comments on shared posts or third-party accounts will not count.
4.6. The Promoter may disqualify fraudulent, automated, abusive or otherwise invalid entries, acting reasonably and fairly.
5. The prize
5.1. There is one prize available.
5.2. One winner will receive four standard admission tickets to Otley Common Varieties, taking place at Otley Common, Walkergate, Otley, LS21 1HB, on Saturday 17 October 2026.
5.3. Doors open at 7pm and the performance begins at 8pm, subject to any changes communicated by the event organiser.
5.4. The prize consists of four tickets for the winner and three guests.
5.5. Travel, accommodation, food, drinks and other personal expenses are not included.
5.6. The prize is not exchangeable for cash and cannot be exchanged for admission to another event.
5.7. All four guests must be over 18.
5.8 All four guests do not have to attend together.
6. Winner selection
6.1. One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries across Instagram and Facebook.
6.2. The draw will take place at 4pm BST on Thursday 15 October 2026.
6.3. Eligible entries from both platforms will be combined into one pool, with each participant receiving a maximum of one entry overall.
6.4. The winner will be selected using a verifiably random computer process. The Promoter will retain evidence of the selection process.
6.5. The draw will be conducted fairly and in accordance with the relevant requirements of the UK CAP Code.
7. Winner notification and claiming the prize
7.1. The winner will be contacted by private message from Otley Common's official Instagram or Facebook account on Thursday 15 October 2026, following the draw at 4pm.
7.2. The winner will be asked to confirm their eligibility and provide the information reasonably required to issue their tickets.
7.3. Due to the event taking place on Saturday 17 October, the winner will be asked to respond by 12 noon BST on Friday 16 October 2026.
7.4. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be reached or cannot accept the prize despite reasonable attempts, the Promoter may select an alternative winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.
7.5. Tickets will be issued electronically or made available for collection at the venue. Arrangements will be confirmed directly with the winner.
7.6. The Promoter will never request payment or bank card details in order to claim the prize.
8. Winner information
8.1. To demonstrate that a valid award has taken place, the Promoter will make information identifying the winner, ordinarily their surname and county, available on request where required by the UK CAP Code.
8.2. The winner may object to this information being published or request that the amount of information made available is reduced by contacting the Promoter.
8.3. This will not prevent the Promoter from providing the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if requested.
8.4. The winner's personal information will not be used for additional publicity without an appropriate lawful basis.
9. Personal data
9.1. The Promoter will process entrants' social media account names and entry information as necessary to administer the prize draw, verify eligibility, select a winner and demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements.
9.2. The winner may be asked to provide their full name, email address and other information reasonably necessary for ticket fulfilment.
9.3. Entrants will not automatically be added to any marketing mailing list as a result of entering.
9.4. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and the Promoter's privacy policy, available at https://www.otleycommon.org/privacy-policy.
9.5. Information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the promotion and comply with applicable record-keeping obligations, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised.
10. Instagram and Facebook disclaimer
10.1. This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook or Meta.
10.2. By entering, participants release Instagram and Facebook from responsibility for this promotion to the extent permitted by law.
10.3. Entrants acknowledge that they are providing their entry information to the Promoter rather than to Instagram or Facebook for the administration of this promotion.
11. General conditions
11.1. The Promoter reserves the right to verify eligibility and investigate suspected fraudulent or invalid entries.
11.2. The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the prize draw only where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this unavoidable and will seek to minimise unfairness or disappointment to participants.
11.3. If the event is cancelled or materially changed, the Promoter will communicate with the winner and consider an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer and promotional marketing requirements.
11.4. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts entrants' statutory rights.
11.5. The prize draw is governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory legal protections applying to entrants elsewhere in the UK.
